ENTERPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
Objective:
Such programmes having duration of 4 to 6 week (with normal intake
of 30 participants) are being organised as a regular feature to
cultivate the latent traits and capabilities of the youth (both
men and women) by enlightening them on various aspects that are
necessary and useful for setting up and managing small scale industries.

Methodology:
These programmes are conducted through SISIs, RTCs and SEPTI, Tiruvalla & Ettumanoor.
Mode of availing the scheme:
Application are invited through advertisement in newspapers and selection is done by interviews. The prospective/budding entrepreneurs so selected for EDP course are required to undergo full time training programme of 4-6 weeks duration.
Beginning with psychological defreezing and achievement motivation
techniques knowledge is imparted to participants on the scope and
potential of different items, which can be manufactured in a small
scale industry, its technical feasibility, economic viability and
commercial prospects as a self employment venture. Efforts are directed
not only to inform but to enable them to determine and identify
all these themselves. Thus they are lead towards an entrepreneurial
decision of product browsing and identification. The critical areas
of product/process design, manufacturing practices, testing, quality
control/assurance, appropriate machinery and equipment, project
profile preparation, marketing avenues/techniques, product/services
pricing, export opportunities, infrasturactural facilities, finance
and financial institutions, cash flow, Industrial Policy etc. are
also dealt with by specialists experts. This is supplemented by
visits to small scale units and hand on practices on machinery/process.
This enables them to prepare their own project report for which
they are helped. Project reports, are duly appraised, evaluated
and corrected in consultation with the experts.
