Subject: -Production of Documentary Film – Cluster Approach for Development of MSMEs – quotation/ proposal thereof.
1. Office of the Development Commissioner, Ministry of Small Scale Industries, Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi intends to produce a documentary film on Cluster Approach for Development of MSMEs. Tentatively the script of the film will focus on key elements of cluster development, starting from historical background of clusters, cluster and its global significance, cluster traditions in India, cluster development programmes in India, benefits of cluster based intervention under Small Industry Cluster Development Programme implemented by the Ministry of SSI, cluster development process, successful case studies, challenges faced by clusters and future road map for cluster development for MSMEs.
2. For production of documentary film, 12 clusters being developed by this Ministry in different parts of the country will be covered. During the production of film, adequate number of units from each cluster will be covered by highlighting interviews of successful entrepreneurs; economic and social benefits accruing to the cluster actors, and effectiveness of the cluster approach will be highlighted. The following 12 clusters have been tentatively identified:
- Surgical Instruments Cluster, Baruipur (West Bengal) - Artisan cluster.
- Auto Components Cluster, Chennai (Tamil Nadu) – Industrial cluster
- Ball Bearing Cluster, Jaipur (Rajasthan) - Industrial cluster
- Diesel Engine & Engineering Cluster, Rajkot (Gujarat) - Industrial cluster
- Rice Milling Cluster, Karnal (Haryana) - Agro based cluster.
- Leather Footwear Cluster, Agra (Uttar Pradesh) - Artisan cluster
- Foundry Cluster, Belgaum (Karnataka) - Industrial cluster.
- Gold Ornaments Cluster, Thrissur (Kerala) - Artisan cluster.
- Pharmaceutical Cluster, Indore (MP) - Industrial cluster
- Brass and Bronze Utensils Cluster, Pareb (Bihar) - Artisan cluster
- Rubber Cluster – Changnasheery (Kerala) – Industrial cluster.
- Cricket Bat Cluster, Anantnag (J&K) – Industrial cluster
3. The duration of the proposed film is 25 to 30 minutes and will be prepared in both Hindi & English.
4. Sealed quotations/ offers may be sent within one month at the following address superscribing on the envelope “Proposal for Production of documentary film” giving the detailed proposal for the production of film along with the budget break up, concept note and treatment line.
