    Elected Member of the Gorakhpur District Council and Chairman of Gorakhpur District Social Welfare Council in 1963.

    Elected as Member of Lok Sabha from Bansgaon.
  11. May, 2004 :
    Appointed Union Cabinet Minister for Small Scale Industries and Agro and Rural Industries.
